Elite Coach NCCP Requirement Exemption Process -
As indicated in Karate BC’s Instructor and Coach Requirements Policy and in the Information Bulletin of this event, coaches who wish to coach on Day 2 (Elite day) of the Provincial Championships must be at minimum Competition Introduction Trained in the NCCP. For coaches who require an exemption to this requirement, Karate BC’s Coaching Committee has implemented an exemption fee of $200.
A coach who applies for the exemption will then receive free registration into either: (1) a karate-specific Instruction Beginner Workshop (between April 30 and December 31, 2023), or (2) a Competition Introduction Workshop (between April 30 and December 31, 2023).
This exemption fee is non-transferable to another person and will not be extended past December 31, 2023. This fee cannot be applied to other courses, evaluations, or other NCCP modules.
This exemption does not exempt coaches from completing the other coach requirements. All coaches must have completed the Making Headway in Sport module, the Safe Sport Training module, a rules course and a current Criminal Record Check (including a Vulnerable Sector Check) on file with Karate BC to be able to qualify for the exemption.
This is a one-time exemption for coaches. A coach may request this exemption one time only.
