Victorian Karate League - 2022 Shukokai Cup Elite Divisions
Venue: Dandenong & District Netball Centre Bennett Street Dandenong
Entry Costs: $80.00 for the first event and $10 for each subsquent event No additional costs for Senior Open Team Kumite events and Senior Open Kumite events (Must enter weight division to be eligible otherwise entry will not be approved) Team Kumite Events - can be registered by selecting "add Team Entry" under Competitor registration. Only one team member needs to register the team but must include the names of their team members. There are no PDF entries for this tournament
TOURNAMENT CLOSING DATE AND TIME: Strictly Tuesday 14 June 2022 at midnight. No late entries will be permitted.
Spectator Fees and Refund Policy NO Spectator Entry Fees. In the event the athlete can no longer compete, the following refund will apply: 70% - 8 days or more prior to the tournament date; 50% - 7 days or more prior to the tournament date: Nil refund if 3 days prior to tournament.
Age Cut-off Age is determined by the age a competitor will be on 5th August 2022 (National Championship date) applies to this tournament for Elite Divisions Only.
Timing of Tournament Elite Divisions will start at 8.30am Development Divisions will follow, please refer to timetable for event timing. (Subject to change on the day).
Rules for Selection of Divisions Definition of an elite athlete for the purposes of VKL: An elite athlete is someone who has been a member of the Victorian team in either of the previous two years. Please note this does not include reserves. Any athlete who meets the above criteria must ONLY enter the Elite Divisions. However, this only applies to the discipline in which they have achieved state team selection eg if a competitor is a member of the State Team in Kata but not in Kumite, they are permitted to enter the development division in Kumite. Athletes who do not meet the definition of an elite athlete may enter the Development Divisions. These athletes may also choose to enter the Elite divisions however, an athlete who has entered both Divisions and places 1st or 2nd in the Elite Division (where there are 3 or more competitors) cannot participate in the Development Divisions in future events.

All stop-start timer. Competitors 45 years and over entering Kumite must supply a medical clearance (issued within the last 2 weeks) on competition day to Event Manager. Please note: some events may be combined due to insufficient numbers at organisers discretion.
COVID SAFE REQUIREMENTS: The following rules will be observed at the tournament due to COVIDSafe regulations – more information will be made available closer to the tournament based on Health Department mandates:
Victorian State Team Selection All athletes seeking selection in the Victorian State Team MUST have participated in the Victorian State Championships the same year. Athletes seeking selection in the State Team to compete at the National Championships are encouraged to enter the Elite Divisions. Points accumulated over the four VKL tournaments in the Elite Divisions will be considered in the process of State Team selection. PLEASE NOTE IT IS NOT COMPULSORY TO ENTER THE VKL FOR SELECTION INTO THE VICTORIAN STATE TEAM.
Coaches Requirements Coaches are to wear full tracksuits including footwear (no thongs or sandals) while coaching at VKL events. They are not required to have NCAS qualifications or coach’s passes/photo id. With regards to number of coaches per club, the number is 1 coach per 5 students to a maximum of 5 club coaches in total (5 mats).
Payments via Paypal Please use the 1st line of the Billing Address to insert in competitors name and a contact number. All athletes will appear on a waiting list until payment has been received, once notification of payment is received by Australian Shukokai Karate, the athlete will be moved from the waitlist into the competition. Please note, athletes do not appear in the competition whilst on waitlist and until payment is confirmed. If payment is not received by tournament cut-off date and time, athletes WILL NOT be eligible to compete as the entry will be deemed late.
