2022 Margaret River Open Championships

You are required to submit your tournament application to the 2022 Margaret River Open Championships online. 

If you contact your Club, they will inform you of your club's login details so that you will be registered as a club and not as an individual.

Closing Date for Online Registration/forms - Friday 27^thMay 2022

USKUA Reserve the Right to Change, Cancel or Combine Any Divisions at their Discretion

ENTRY FEE - Individual fee $45.00 for the first event and $20.00 per additional event.

PAYMENTS - Electronic payments can be paid to Margaret River Karate Club BSB 306 021 Account 4176974.  We would appreciate a single payment made by the club with club details for example:

J Smith AKKA competitors

Alternatively, individual payments must have the club code,individual competitor’s surname and initial in the description field.

Example: TKA Smith J

Compulsory Kumite Safety Equipment –

1. Pee Wees - Mouth Guard, Body protector (can be supplied), WKF/AKF approved Mitts. No head strikes permitted.
2. All Other Competitors –

• Mouth Guard
• Males - Groin Guards
• WKF/AKF approved body protectors or alternative Body Armour supplied by USKUA
• WKF/AKF approved combined Shin/Instep Protectors and Gloves
• WKF/AKF approved Chest Protectors (Females 14 Years & Above)
• AKF approved Head Guard/AKF Helmet or WKF Face Mask (8 – 13Years)

AGES:  - As per the 5th August 2022

- Senior Kata 16 years and older           - Senior Kumite 18 years and older

- Junior 16 and 17 years only                 - Cadet 14 and 15 years only

KATA:                      Children Kata divisions (two competitors at a time, excluding semi-final and final). First / second round Heian/Pinan,Gekisai and Saifa. Third round onwards free Kata. Can repeat a Kata but not consecutively.  Cadet / Junior free Kata and can repeat a Kata but not consecutively. Senior Kyu Grade and Team Kata divisions free kata and can repeat a Kata but not consecutively.  Other Senior Kata divisions free Kata and cannot repeat a Kata.

TEAM KATA:          Gold / Silver Finalists in Senior Team Kata must perform Bunkai as well as the Kata.

CONDITIONS:         Competitors who exceed the correct age or grade risk disqualification.

PROGRAM:             The program of events is subject to change at short notice.  A DRAFT Programme will be available Thursday 3^rdJune on our Facebook page.

MEDALS:                 Trophies for senior divisions - first and second.  Medals for third and other divisions.

CONDITIONS

1. In these conditions “the Union” shall mean and include the Universal Shotokan Karate Union, it’s officers, servants or agents and “Opponent” shall mean any person competing against the competitor.
2. In consideration of the Union accepting my application to enter and compete in the tournament and in further consideration of my opponent competing against me, I hereby agree to abide by the conditions of entry, the rules, by-laws and regulations of the Union.
3. The Union enters into this contract as the Union and as agent for the competitor’s opponent.
4. I acknowledge that my participation in the tournament carries with it a real risk of personal injury.
5. I acknowledge and agree that the Union shall not be liable whether in tort or contract or otherwise for any loss or damage or injury whatsoever to my person or property whilst participating in or otherwise attending the tournament, howsoever caused or occurring including without limiting the foregoing, the negligence, breach of contract, wilful act or default of the Union and whether or not such loss or damage or injury to me occurs within or adjacent to any property occupied by the Union.
6. I acknowledge and agree that my opponent shall not be liable whether in tort or contract or otherwise for any loss or damage or injury whatsoever to my person or property whilst participating in or otherwise attending the tournament, howsoever caused by or occurring including without limiting the forgoing, the negligence, breach of contract, wilful act or default of my opponent and whether or not such loss or damage or injury to me occurs within or adjacent to the property occupied by the Union.
7. I authorize the Union to contract on my behalf to exclude my liability as an opponent whether such arises in tort or contract or otherwise for any loss or damage or injury to another competitor however caused or occurring including but without limiting the foregoing, the negligence, breach of contract, wilful act or default of myself.
8. I expressly agree and do hereby waive any rights that I may have which are in any way inconsistent with the foregoing.
